The wool clip

Today we managed to get the ewes clipped. It was touch and go as the wet weather has caused a bit of a backlog with the shearers and we were quite lucky to get someone to come at short notice after the sunshine yesterday. Its a great relief for us and the sheep to get the fleeces off - they were getting itchy and uncomfortable and we were worried that a sudden improvement in the weather could cause a problem with flies infesting dirty old patches of wool. We'll send the best wool down to the Natural Fibre Company to get it spun into yarn.
